It’s not like he isn’t available. No, Dallas Cowboys tight end Gavin Escobar has been around and his services have been available. But opportunities are slim when you play behind a living legend and future Hall of Fame player in Jason Witten.
That shouldn’t take anything away from Escobar, who was selected in the second round (47th overall) in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Entering his fourth season as a pro player out of San Diego State, Escobar has played in 46 regular season games. He started six of those contests.
Despite being around Dallas for three years, the six-foot-six tight end has only 26 receptions to his name.
