Gavin Escobar hopes his cleats can send a message

FRISCO, Texas -- Cleats will be in the headlines Thursday night when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Minnesota Vikings.

But not because of anything to do with the condition of the turf at U.S. Bank Stadium. The league is allowing players to wear customized cleats in Week 13 as part of the My Cause, My Cleats campaign.

Jason Witten's cleats will have a message regarding domestic violence. Ezekiel Elliott's cleats are about animal cruelty. Dak Prescott's message is about his mother, Peggy, who passed away from cancer while he was at Mississippi State.
