Officially parting ways with offensive coordinator Scott Linehan on Friday gave hope to those who have been demanding a more creative Cowboys offense.
Some pumping of the brakes is recommended, though.
The offense isn't going to come out of one offseason looking like the Rams, Saints or Chiefs. There will likely be more pre-snap motion, some shorter developing routes and more opportunities for Dak Prescott to use his feet.
But just remember that Jason Garrett is still running the show, and he's going to pick someone that shares his same offensive principles.
Here are five possible candidates to be the Cowboys' next offensive coordinator:
