Tony Romo cleared the air before even kickoff of Super Bowl LIII.
Jim Nantz, the veteran play-by-play man and Romo's broadcasting partner, welcomed the analyst to the big game between the Patriots and Rams during the buildup Sunday on CBS.
"I've been waiting to hear 'Welcome to the Super Bowl' my whole life,'" Romo, the former longtime Cowboys quarterback, quipped. "This is going to be a fun one today."
The willingness to poke fun at himself set the tone for the next four hours, featuring a game so offensively challenged most of the way that it needed humor, along with Romo's typical X's and O's insight.
