The Dallas Cowboys made national headlines earlier this month when they signed their All-Pro wide recevier, Dez Bryant, to a new long-term contract. Adding to the intense drama of the signing was the fact the deal wasn’t officially completed until less than an hour before the July 15th deadline. A deadline, that if missed, would have forced Bryant to play under the team’s franchise tag in 2015. And one that the 26-year old phenom vowed never to play under.
At the end of the day, the signing was a win-win for both player and franchise (and a major sigh of relief for fans).
