DeMarcus Lawrence blew by the Detroit right tackle during the fourth quarter last week and hopped on the back of quarterback Matthew Stafford, sacking him for the third time that afternoon.
Lawrence stood up and demonstratively brushed imaginary dirt from his jersey.
The Cowboys defensive end wasn’t tallying up his takedowns at the moment. But by tying his career high for a game with the hat-trick, it gave him 20 sacks over the last 20 games. Dating to the start of the 2017 season, Lawrence is matched only by Arizona’s Chandler Jones.
Lawrence can wreck a game, is how Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien put it ahead of Sunday’s rare in-state meeting at NRG Stadium.
