Defer-gate was resolved in Cowboys favor by NFL league office by halftime

The Dallas Cowboys romped to a 44-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Because of the way the game played out, it turned out that defer-gate wasn’t going to be a big deal. Still, the oddity of the coin toss to start the game hung over the proceedings until things were finally resolved by halftime.

It all started when the Cowboys won the toss and Dak Prescott said the Cowboys wanted to kick it, when technically if you want to receive the ball in the second half you need to defer. After referee Walt Anderson asking him again, Prescott said the Cowboys would defer, but somehow Anderson didn’t acknowledge that and for the first half of the game it was believed that the Cowboys would kickoff to start the game, and kickoff to start the second half.
