FRISCO -- The Dallas Cowboys have been informed by the NFL that suspended defensive end Randy Gregory can return to practice this week and play in Monday night's game against Detroit.
And, the Cowboys are banking on him to get up to speed quickly so he can contribute soon.
The Cowboys believed that Gregory would be able to practice two weeks ago until they were told otherwise by the league. They're operating under the belief that nothing will change this time. That doesn't mean Gregory won't face another suspension in 2017 for another violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
