Dallas Cowboys: The good and the bad from the first preseason game

The Dallas Cowboys had their first preseason game on Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers. A lot of people think preseason is meaningless but I beg to differ.

With an eye toward training camp and sifting through the coach speak about the team, you can really get a feel about how the players are performing when the bullets start to fly.

With some starters like Ezekiel Elliott and Sean Lee staying on the sidelines, most others got in a couple series if not more. This being the first preseason game, the backups and guys trying to just make the team get most of the playing time.
