The Cowboys have agreed to a four-year, $18 million deal with former Eagles defensive end Cedric Thornton, a source told Dallas Morning News reporter Brandon George.
Thornton, who turns 28 in June, went undrafted in 2011 out of Southern Arkansas. He just finished his fifth season in Philadelphia, where he's started the last three years. Thornton had 33 tackles in 13 starts in 2015. He's had one sack in each of the last four seasons. He will likely see more time in the interior of the Cowboys 4-3 front.
The Cowboys' pass-rush needs help with the team expected not to re-sign end Greg Hardy and with Jeremy Mincey and Jack Crawford also an unrestricted free agents.
