FRISCO, Texas - The Dallas Cowboys made 13 roster moves on Tueday, trimming their roster to the NFL-mandated 75 players. Here’s a closer look at the cuts:
Most significant move: The Cowboys placed tight end James Hanna on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, which means he will miss the first six weeks of the season. Hanna had surgery a few weeks ago after complaining of soreness when training camp began. Hanna is effectively the 12th starter on offense because of how much the Cowboys use two tight-end sets. He is an underrated blocker, combined with Jason Witten and he can be effective as a pass catcher in a limited role.
