One of the Dallas Cowboys biggest areas of concern going into the 2015 NFL Draft was their defensive backfield, which ranked 26th in passing yards given up in the league last season. With veteran cornerback Brandon Carr‘s poor play and inflated contract, and corner Morris Claiborne‘s injury recovery and expiring contract, the Cowboys were looking to address that position early on in the draft. And they did.
With their first round selection, 27th overall, the Cowboys selected cornerback Byron Jones out of the University of Connecticut. Jones exploded onto the national scene during February’s NFL Scouting Combine.
