Everyone’s back is against the wall. That’s how Dallas Cowboys‘ executive vice president Stephen Jones described the situation surrounding the current contract status of his longtime head coach, Jason Garrett.
After posting a 3-5 record to start last season, Garrett helped to turn around the Cowboys, leading them to a 10-6 season-ending record, securing the NFC East title and posting a playoff victory over the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card round. But once again, Garrett was unable to lead Dallas past the Divisional Round of the postseason.
Now Garrett enters 2019 a lame duck coach with a single-year left on his current contract.
