It’s hard to imagine that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wasn’t a top selection in the 2016 NFL Draft. In fact, Prescott was picked in the fourth round by America’s Team. But Dak wasn’t even the top selection in that round.
The Cowboys has two selections in the fourth round in that year’s draft. With that first pick (101st overall), Dallas opted to select Oklahoma defensive end Charles Tapper over the quarterback out of Mississippi State who would eventually change the direction of their franchise.
Tapper was primarily a traits prospect whom many believed played out of position during his time with the Sooners.
