In his rookie season, third round selection Jourdan Lewis was arguably the Dallas Cowboys top first-year player. Lewis started seven of his15 games in 2017, posting 54 tackles, 10 pass defends and a single interception.
But this offseason, the 5-foot-10, 195 pound Lewis was regulated to the second team. And that was believed to be because of new positional coach Kris Richard. The former leader of the Legion of Boom, the Seattle Seahawks’ storied secondary, became the Cowboys passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach earlier this year.
Richard is known for favoring tall, lengthy corners.
