NFL free agency begins on Monday, as teams are able to begin to negotiate with free agents. Most years the first few days of the free agency signing period resembles a feeding frenzy of piranhas in the Amazon River.
Far too often teams throw out overblown contracts to players that are not worth the money they eventually sign for. Dallas Cowboys’ Chief Operating Officer and Director of Player Personnel Stephen Jones recently said that the Cowboys are not going to be huge players in free agency. Rather, Jones said the Cowboys will be bargain shoppers looking to make sound deals that will not cripple the franchise for years to come.
