Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre joined exclusive company on Sunday, becoming the 31st member of the 3,000-hit club.
The Dallas Cowboys appreciated his feat from afar, particularly tight end Jason Witten. Witten joined football’s exclusive 1,000-catch club during the 2015 season.
“I really do admire it,” Witten said of Beltre’s feat. “I was watching yesterday [Saturday] to see. First off, 3,000 hits? There’re not many who have done that. I am in awe of it in a lot of ways is he’s always been consistent. You know, there’s never been a point where, like you say, ‘Man, he really struggled and disappeared for a couple of years.
