For several years, the Dallas Cowboys offensive line has been seen as the team’s top positional group, and one of the scariest in the NFL. Last year this unit, which features three perennial Pro Bowlers, faltered.
Injuries to left tackle Tyron Smith combined with the loss of two starters last offseason (Doug Free, retirement; Ronald Leary, free agency) were too much for this talented group to overcome. This exposed the offensive line’s lack of quality depth, resulting in some terrible performances by this normally elite unit.
To address those concerns, it appears the Cowboys are bringing in a talented free agent to shore up their O-line.
