Saturday 3:00 p.m. CT. That’s the NFL’s mandated deadline for the Dallas Cowboys and every other team in the league to cut down their roster from 90-players to just 53 men. That means nearly 1,200 professional football players will be sent to the unemployment line over the weekend.
For much of the preseason, the headlines in Dallas have been about who would make the Cowboys’ active roster. Names like tight end Rico Gathers, wide receiver Lance Lenoir, running back Bo Scarbrough, and defensive end Kony Ealy are all believed to be on the bubble.
