This week got off to an interesting start for the Dallas Cowboys when it was reported that tight end Dalton Schultz will skip the remaining portion of OTAs that are voluntary amid contract negotiations with the team. What makes this situation so interesting is that Schultz technically just signed a new contract with the Cowboys. The team placed the franchise tag on the fifth-year tight end who went for over 800 yards last season with eight touchdowns, and unlike most holdout situations of that variety Schultz signed the tag as noted.
On top of signing the tag Schultz had previously been showing up to OTAs so this really is a bit of an about face.
