The biggest contributing factor to the Dallas Cowboys 4-12 collapse last season was the two collarbone injuries suffered by now 36-year old starting quarterback Tony Romo in 2015. Without a suitable back-up in place, the Cowboys managed to win just one contest when Romo did not start under center.
So, going into this offseason, finding the quarterback of the future was top priority for Dallas on many analyst and fan’s to-do lists. But after failed attempts in the draft to obtain rookie quarterbacks Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook, the Cowboys opted to wait until the latter half of the fourth round to address the position.
