Josh Brent’s retirement doesn’t mean his relationship with the Cowboys has come to an end.
Owner Jerry Jones was asked if the franchise will continue to support the defensive tackle in different ways even though he will no longer play football.
“Yes,’’ Jones said. “Yes.’’
Brent announced his retirement last week after meeting with Jones and head coach Jason Garrett. He was suspended for the first 10 games of last season for his conviction of intoxication manslaughter in the death of friend and teammate Jerry Brown Jr. He played in only one regular season game, recording two tackles, against Chicago.
