FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys won’t have to worry about anybody from the middle rounds of the 2015 draft qualifying for the proven performance escalator in 2018, but that will change in 2019.
The Cowboys did not have a player qualify for a bump in base salary pay for the final year of their rookie contracts in 2018 with Chaz Green, Damien Wilson and Geoff Swaim falling short of the threshold to see their base salary move from $705,000 to $1.905 million.
Players drafted in Rounds 3-7 need to play in at least 35 percent of the offensive or defensive snaps in two of their first three seasons in order to have their base salaries jump to the restricted free agent tender for that season.
