Cowboys' Will McClay opens up about Dez decision, 2018 draft and what 'Dak-friendly' means to him

The Cowboys' Will McClay prefers to keep a low profile most of the year. Around NFL draft time, that's impossible. The vice president of player personnel just completed his fifth year running the draft for the club, and the 15-year employee has earned a reputation as a not-so-secret weapon for the franchise and owner Jerry Jones.

McClay joined SportsDay on Tuesday to talk about the just completed 2018 draft and the team's vision for the upcoming season. Below are some highlights from the conversation, edited for length and clarity:

Q: What, from your perspective, went into the decision to move on from receiver Dez Bryant and how much does being "Dak-friendly" or playing to the strengths of quarterback Dak Prescott have to do with it?
