FRISCO, Texas -- For the first time, the Dallas Cowboys will have John Hussey as the referee when they take on Detroit on ESPN’s "Monday Night Football."
Hussey has been a ref since 2015, but he has yet to work a Cowboys' game. He joined the NFL as a line judge in 2002 and was part of Super Bowl XLV at AT&T Stadium when Green Bay beat Pittsburgh.
Hussey worked the Tennessee win against Kansas City in Week 15 and called 11 penalties with seven accepted. Perhaps the cold weather (minus-9 wind chill) helped the officials keep the penalties down.
