FRISCO, Texas -- Roger Staubach and Drew Pearson will forever be linked because of the Hail Mary. At the Dallas Cowboys' new practice facility their footprints will live forever in concrete at the team's new Ring of Honor walkway.
The team's 21 Ring of Honor members will have plaques commemorating their careers, but the special touch belonging to Staubach and Pearson is tied to the famous Hail Mary. Their plaques will be 50 yards apart, about the length of the play that beat the Minnesota Vikings in the 1975 playoffs.
“This is how the Dallas Cowboys do things,” said Pearson, whose grandson will play inside the 12,000-seat indoor stadium that accompanies the practice facility.
