The Dallas Cowboys received potentially devastating news late last month when the NFL levied a 10-game suspension on starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. This was the talented but troubled linebacker’s second suspension in as many years in Dallas.
To fill the void during McClain’s scheduled absence, the Cowboys are expected to promote from within. Linebackers Anthony Hitchens and Andrew Gachkar being the likely candidates as both filled in for the mercurial Rolando this offseason during OTA’s.
But the Cowboys have also been searching the free agent wire, looking for potential veterans to sign in order to add some quality depth to the position.
