When the Cowboys added QB Jameill Showers to the practice squad yesterday, they upped the number of players on the 10-man practice squad to eight players. Leaving to spots empty on the practice squad was a clear indication that further roster moves would be forthcoming.
What wasn't expected was that just three days after signing seven players to their practice squad on Sunday, they would release two of them again. Linebacker Deon King and defensive end Ryan Russell lasted just three days on the practice squad, and since nobody picked either player up on the waiver wire on Sunday, it's unlikely that they'll be claimed this time around.
