Cowboys release cornerback Tyler Patmon

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this season cornerback Tyler Patmon fell out of favor with the Dallas Cowboys’ coaching staff only this time it cost him a roster spot.

Patmon was released Tuesday for what sources call performance issues. He opened the season as the Cowboys’ nickel cornerback after losing Orlando Scandrick for the season in training camp with a knee injury but lost the job after five games.

He regained the job three weeks later only to lose it after Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Making the decision more curious is the health of cornerback Morris Claiborne.
