FRISCO, Texas - Having lost Lance Dunbar to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday morning, the Dallas Cowboys retained Darren McFadden on a one-year deal to back up Ezekiel Elliott.
McFadden had interest from other teams but opted to remain with the Cowboys on a deal that will pay him $980,000 this season.
McFadden, 30, was limited to just three games last year because of a broken elbow suffered last offseason. He spent the first 13 games on the non-football injury list but the Cowboys paid him even though they were not required since he was not hurt in football drills or training.
