Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott fined $26,739 for lowering helmet on hit

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was fined $26,739 for lowering his helmet to initiate contact against Philadelphia defensive back Corey Graham in last week's win against the Eagles.

Elliott is appealing the fine.

Elliott was the first offensive player to be flagged for that penalty this season.

The rule, approved last spring, prohibits players from lowering their helmets to initiate contact with an opponent.
