Cowboys QB Brandon Weeden on botched snap in shotgun: "It was a disaster after that.''

The Cowboys did a lot of good things in the first half of Thursday’s pre-season opener against San Diego.

A fumbled snap that lost 35 yards in field position and led to the Chargers first touchdown wasn’t one of them.

Dallas had a first-and-10 on the Chargers 32-yard line after rookie Gus Johnson converted a fourth-and-one. Quarterback Brandon Weeden lined up in the shotgun and let the snap from center Travis Frederick go through his hands.

“I was going to throw the slant over to my right, and Travis snaps it back there pretty good,’’ Weeden said.
