FRISCO -- Jerry Jones ticked off a couple of the biggest reasons he believes the Cowboys have returned to the playoffs this season during his regular radio show Friday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM].
The team owner mentioned the changes to the coaching staff during the offseason, first-round draft pick Leighton Vander Esch's immediate contributions, linebacker Jaylon Smith's improvement and the trade for receiver Amari Cooper.
Then he got to running back Ezekiel Elliott, who can lock up his second rushing title in three seasons after Sunday's game at the New York Giants.
" Zeke Elliott, he has absolutely had a phenomenal, an impactful year, and that's not being trite," Jones gushed.
