Dallas is still taking its time with Dak Prescott's contract extension.
Dak Prescott said he doesn’t necessarily need to be the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback. However, the Dallas Cowboys and their franchise QB haven’t been able to find a common ground on his next deal.
Many thought something would get done before the start of free agency in March, but Prescott is now facing the possibility of playing in the final year of his deal and potentially hitting free agency next March.
Speaking at a Children’s Cancer Fund event in Dallas on Friday night, Prescott said he has spoken with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about his contract, but also noted that “real” negotiations have not taken place.
