The Cowboys expect Dak Prescott to be their quarterback for the next “12 to 15 years.” But they could use a draft pick on another quarterback this year.
Jerry Jones has drafted only six quarterbacks, including Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft, since he bought the Cowboys in 1989. Prescott earned offensive rookie of the year honors after the Cowboys drafted him in the fourth round in 2016.
The Cowboys, though, have no experienced quarterback behind Prescott besides Tony Romo, whom they are expected to part ways with soon.
The Cowboys hope to re-sign Kellen Moore, executive vice president Stephen Jones said.
