OXNARD, Calif. – Rolando McClain isn’t practicing. He’s on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from knee surgery. And worst of all he’s suspended the first four games without pay after violating the league’s substance abuse policy. This is McClain’s current lot in life, and no one would characterize it as particularly good.
But talk to McClain for a few minutes and it’s hard not to sense that the linebacker is as at peace.
“Honestly it feels like I’m back in college,” McClain said Thursday, referring to his days at Alabama when he was one of the top prospects around.
