IRVING, Texas -- With free agents James Hanna and Mackenzy Bernadeau visiting elsewhere, the Dallas Cowboys re-signed linebacker Kyle Wilber to a two-year deal.
While the deal will not change the balance of power in the NFC East, it fills many needs for the Cowboys.
Wilber is a strongside linebacker by trade, but he can also play middle linebacker in an emergency, put his hand on the ground and rush the passer as a defensive end and play on all of the special-teams units. He was drafted in the fourth round in 2012 as a 3-4 outside linebacker but has worked himself into a multifaceted player the coaches like.
