Cowboys injuries: TE James Hanna could miss a week or two; WR Dez Bryant may not be ready to return to practice

James Hanna suffered a sprained knee in Thursday’s loss to San Diego that could keep the tight end out of practice for the next week or two.

That appears to be the most serious injury to come of the Cowboys pre-season opener. Other injuries of note were to rookie running back Gus Johnson (shoulder sprain) and safety Ray Vinopal (ankle).

Hanna’s absence will give rookie Geoff Swaim the chance to make a move before training camp ends in two weeks.

After the game, head coach Jason Garrett said that running backs Darren McFadden (hamstring) and Lance Dunbar (ankle) were on schedule to return to practice Saturday.
