FRISCO -- All-Pro right guard Zack Martin wouldn't go as far this week as to label the Cowboys' loss at Washington a month ago as a wakeup call. But the game did serve as a revelation.
The Redskins shut down Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys' run game in a 20-17 win that at the time gave them control of the NFC East. Elliott finished with 33 rushing yards on 15 carries in the second-worst performance of his career.
The loss had the Cowboys reeling going into their bye week. They knew they needed to make changes to salvage their season.
