The Dallas Cowboys turned to the veteran route for a camp arm.
The team has brought on veteran quarterback Luke McCown, a Texas native who has been in the league since 2004. McCown, 36, has played in 62 games, including 10 starts, for five different teams. He last appeared in a regular season game in 2015.
The Cowboys needed another arm after Zac Dysert went down with a bizarre back injury. McCown has a 2-8 record and has thrown more interceptions (15) than touchdowns (9) in his career.
The Cowboys also signed receiver Javontee Herndon. Herndon had 24 catches for 195 yards for the Chargers in 2015.
