Cowboys discover breakout star despite losing streak

Every cloud has silver lining. Or in the case of the Dallas Cowboys, every six-game losing streak reveals a possible breakout star. To be more specific, we are talking about rookie sensation David Irving. The undrafted defensive lineman out of Iowa State was swiped off the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad in late September and has been paying huge dividends for Dallas ever since.

One of the lone bright spots in the midst of one of the darkest Cowboys seasons in recent memory, Irving’s play has been a revelation. At times, the 22-year old has been the best defensive lineman on the Cowboys side of the ball.
