Cowboys Defensive Tackle Josh Brent Retires From NFL

The veteran has decided to end his comeback attempt.

The Dallas Cowboys announced today that tackle Josh Brent has retired from the NFL. The team put the defensive tackle on the reserved/retired list today. Brent had a promising career as an inside run-stuffer who occasionally showed burst through the middle of the line when the Cowboys played a 3-4 defense. His stint at nose tackle in place of Jay Ratliff was on an upward trajectory until a night in December of 2012. Brent was the driver of a car that was involved in an accident that killed teammate Jerry Brown, Jr.
