Apparently, Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent is hanging up his cleats.
The Cowboys placed Brent on the reserve/retired list on Friday. This wouldn't be news in normal circumstances for a player who has played one game in two seasons, and recorded just two tackles. But we know that Brent, who turned 27 earlier this year, was involved in one of the NFL's most tragic incidents in many years.
Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter stemming from the Dec. 8, 2012 car accident that killed his teammate and friend Jerry Brown.
