Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey has elbow surgery

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys free agent defensive end Jeremy Mincey had surgery on Tuesday to remove bone chips in his right elbow for the second straight offseason.

Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery and Mincey is expected to be ready for the offseason. Mincey made this announcement on Instagram on Tuesday night.

The question is whether it will be with the Cowboys or another team. Mincey did not have a sack in 2015, but he could not straighten out his right arm to help keep offensive linemen away. In 2014, Mincey led the Cowboys with six sacks.
