SAN DIEGO — Until Thursday, Corey White plied away in relative anonymity.
Even though he was doing a fine job in training camp, White was overshadowed by the other cornerbacks on the roster. Brandon Carr, Orlando Scandrick, Byron Jones and Morris Claiborne are bigger names than White, after all.
But White earned some attention in the Cowboys’ 17-7 loss to San Diego in the preseason opener. On two different possessions in the second quarter, White batted away two passes and nearly intercepted both.
“I should have had all of them,” he said. “I’ve got to hold myself to a higher standard.
