The Dallas Cowboys are looking at ways to improve their roster over their Week Six bye. On Wednesday, they brought in several free agent running backs and defensive lineman to tryout for a chance to join America’s Team. Despite those tryouts, the Cowboys have actually elected to claim a running back off of waivers instead. The Cowboys claimed undrafted running back Rod Smith on Wednesday, who was waived by the Seattle Seahawks after playing five snaps and rushing for five yards on two carries Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Seahawks promoted Smith to their active roster from their practice squad last week as insurance due to an injury suffered by their starting running back, Marshawn Lynch.
