Cowboys call up wide receiver Cedrick Wilson from the practice squad, Chris Covington released

Wilson missed his entire rookie season thanks to a shoulder injury that landed him on injured reserve. The 2018 sixth-round draft pick from Boise State never got an opportunity to show what he could bring to the offense. After a great training camp and preseason, it looked like he would possibly earn a spot on the team, but the Cowboys just couldn’t find room for him as they opted to keep Devin Smith instead. Smith only logged six offensive snaps last week against the New York Giants, and with a receiving group so loaded with talent at the top, it’s going to be hard to get on the field for these bench guys.
