Cowboys' biggest need is DE, and the most attractive option of NFL free agency is back on the open market

The Miami Dolphins have reversed course and pulled the transition tag on defensive end Olivier Vernon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday morning.

Dolphins have pulled the transition tag on LB/DE on Olivier Vernon, per source. Now a free agent. Will command big dollars.

The tag was worth $12.734 million, and applying it gave Miami seven days to match offers from other clubs for Vernon's services. Instead, the gifted pass rusher hits the open market.

The 25-year-old has accounted for 25.5 sacks over the past three seasons and has 29 for his four-year career.
