FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys will not go into a shell offensively with rookie Dak Prescott as their quarterback when they open the season Sunday against the New York Giants.
"He's our starting quarterback and we're going to run our offense and [you] gotta believe in him and we do, like more than you know," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. "He's done a great job. He's earned it. You can see it in the players that work with him and are around him every day in this facility."
Prescott will be just the fourth rookie quarterback to start a season opener in team history, joining Roger Staubach (1969), Troy Aikman (1989) and Quincy Carter (2001).
