OXNARD, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys have a new quarterback after agreeing to terms Friday with veteran Luke McCown.
McCown agreed to a one-year, minimum salary benefit deal with the Cowboys, a source said.
The Cowboys needed to add a quarterback after Zac Dysert suffered a herniated disc this week and needed season-ending back surgery. The Cowboys also have quarterback Cooper Rush in training camp other than starter Dak Prescott and backup Kellen Moore.
McCown is expected to be at training camp practice Saturday for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys brought in his older brother, Josh, for a free agent visit during the offseason after also expressing interest in Josh McCown last year during training camp.
